In recent years, Egypt has witnessed a remarkable expansion of coffee cultivation, particularly Coffea canephora (Robusta), which has attracted significant attention in light of the increasing local demand for coffee. This situation highlights the necessity of evaluating the performance of these plantations in terms of productivity and quality. Field and laboratory analyses were conducted to assess the physical characteristics of the beans and compare them with international standards for Robusta coffee. Chemical analyses were also performed to determine caffeine and chlorogenic acid contents, aiming to evaluate the chemical quality relative to global reference values. In addition, molecular genetic profiling was carried out to confirm the identity of the cultivated trees and to document the level of genetic diversity. To clarify the influence of environmental factors on bean quality, a climatic study of the region and comprehensive soil analyses were included. The physical and chemical results revealed highly promising performance, and providing strong evidence for the potential success of producing Egyptian coffee with distinctive attributes. These findings underline the potential sustainability and competitiveness of locally cultivated Robusta coffee under the agro-climatic conditions of Qanater El-Khairia.
