We offer two service levels depending on your needs. While the editing service incorporates the full proofreading service as well and is suitable for both native and non-native speakers of English, please note that the proofreading service is only suitable for native speakers.

What do journal Editors want?

Journal Editors evaluate submissions and consider peer reviewers' advice. It is the journal Editors who make the final decision about what gets published. Therefore, it is important to know how they make their decisions.

Journal Editors want to publish good quality science that is of interest to their readers. They often must decide between many high-quality manuscripts. Your submission is more likely to be accepted if it:

  • Describes research that advances the field
  • Is carefully prepared and formatted
  • Uses clear and concise language
  • Follows ethical standards

Editing

Our editing service includes the full proofreading service – we always correct errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. However, editing also involves work on the following:

Suitability of text for the intended audience – Has the language been pitched appropriately? Do any terms or abbreviations require explanation?

Readability – We check for clumsy or awkward non-standard English phrasing and unidiomatic writing.

Content and structure – Is anything missing, redundant, or unclear? We provide comments detailing passages that are repetitive, unclear or illogical. We also consider the structural presentation of the text. Is the order logical? Would certain parts of the information be better digested in the form of bullet points or as a numbered list, for example?

Sentence length and paragraphing – We break up sentences that are too long and unwieldy or join together choppy, staccato sentences that are too short and impede the flow of the text. We also consider how to make the best use of paragraphing in a text in order to maximize the impact of the information.

Consistency – Has the author used a combination of different spelling conventions (e.g. UK and US English)? Do they have a systematic approach to heading case? How about the format of the references? Are abbreviations introduced at first mention and then used consistently from that point on in the text? Are numbering systems in their correct order? When documents are written over a period of time, with the author coming back to the text on different days, it is difficult to maintain consistency of approach and conventions. We systematically check to ensure consistency.

References – Is the referencing clear and consistent, and are your assertions properly backed up by appropriate references? Is there a mixture of referencing styles or any errors in the presentation of references? We bring consistency to your referencing to ensure the text is clutter-free and reader-friendly.

Graphs, figures and tables – Do all graphs, figures, illustrations, and tables support the text effectively? Do they have appropriate captions? We make sure that the visuals are integrated with the text in a thoughtful and cohesive way.

Style – We help you to maintain an even style, making sure the reader is not distracted from the content by unnecessary punctuation marks or emphasis (bold, italics, etc.).

Proofreading

Professional proofreading of academic work involves much more than just a second pair of eyes reading your writing. We carry out our work with a passion for consistency and thoroughness and correct mistakes in the:

  • Spelling – including typos or switches between UK and US conventions
  • Grammar – for example, eliminating run-on sentences and confusions in the tense, or misuse of apostrophes and confusing word choices
  • Punctuation – ensuring a smooth flow, using punctuation appropriately to make sure your meaning is clear

Getting these small details right ensures your research speaks for itself. Your readers will not be distracted by errors and inconsistencies in your writing and will focus on what it is you're saying.

DOI submission services

We will help you submit your previous work to DOI database.

Why DOI important?

A DOI is an abbreviation for "Digital Object Identifier". If a journal assigns DOI to it's published articles it gives authenticity to a journal. DOI ensure the international standardization of scholarly article/research paper. It helps scholars to easily locate the research paper from your citation, as it always refer to an article/published paper, and only that one ,which in turn increase the acceptance of scholarly data as authorized, lawful and citable material.

DOIs identify content permanently. And as they are coupled with metadata, they can be modified over time to keep track of the locations and characteristics of the objects they identify, both for publisher and authors.

Citations count plays important role in evaluating the importance of published research, so citations to published work matters to all the authors. DOI make sure that each published article get it's unique identify and can be cited easily, which increase the visibility of published work.

So as an author you need to make sure that you publish your research in journal, which provides DOI.
